    Indmusic,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    I had run the CWShedder program following your instructions, rebooted and went into IE icon 'Property' but have not deleted
    the cookies files as am not sure if by doing good cookies would also be deleted?

    Anyway here's the HijackThis rescan log.

    After running CWShredder, run another scan, with all other windows closed, place a check next to any of these entries left and hit fix.

    The so-called pop-up blocker (OsbornTech Popup Blocker) is actually part of the Smartfinder.biz redirection.
    To remove, first close all IE windows and let HijackThis fix the OsbornTech Popup Blocker BHO . Restart the computer in Safe Mode, navigate to C:\Windows\system32\, and delete the following files:

    cidft.dll
    cidpoq32.dll
    gupd.dll
    icnfe.dll
    icqrt.dll
    icvbr.dll
    mshelper.dll
    mtwirl.dll
    nthst32.dll
    sdfup.dll
    wecxg32.dll
    xcwer32.dll
    zxmsn.dll

    Now search the Registry and delete all the keys that contain any of the following:

    {FF1BF4C7-4E08-4A28-A43F-9D60A9F7A880}

    {129C733D-D07C-4E34-A5E6-D675A016CFAE}

    {C19EB5B1-FC58-456E-8793-384532ED5970}

    {3F143C3A-1457-6CCA-03A7-7AA23B61E40F}

    Go to start>run and type cleanmgr /sageset:1, hit enter. In the opening box check all except compress old files and OK out. Start>run and type cleanmgr /sagerun:1 and hit enter.

    Reboot and post another log.

    Looks like CWShredder targeted that so-called popup blocker pretty good. Let us know how much of the leftovers you find, please. :)

    Hello guys,

    Thank you all for your excellent advice.
    That fix with the HijackThis software seems to have worked! I have been surfing for the last hour or so and fingers crossed, have not had a single webpage hijacked.

    Well that is good enough for me and I am most grateful to all you people and this wonderful forum!

    THANK YOU.

    Raine Wood - it is always safe to delete all your cookies.

    The worst that will happen is that if you have sites that allow a persistant login (like this one does), when you delete that particular cookie you have to log in at next visit.
