    When I boot, the POST is on the screen
    for 1 second or less. I have been able
    to pause it, if I am quick enough. Is there any way to slow it down??:confused:

    I think your processor may be too fast. You'll have to downgrade to a slower one. :D

    Seriously though, you may have a selection or two in BIOS for various things like checking the RAM which usually takes up to a few seconds. I can't be more specific as most MB's have these defaults set.

    Some vendors such as Compaq/HP etc have their own boot up splash screen that disguise the BIOS boot up screens. There should be a selection to disable these annoying screens somewhere in the BIOS if this is the case? My Toshiba laptop does this. As yet I haven't bothered to try to disable it.

    Get into your BIOS, and look in Advanced BIOS Features. You are looking for Quick Power On Self Test, by default this is usually Enabled.

    Maybe a little more info:

    You can hit the Esc key to see behind the startup splash screen (and the Windows splash screen as well, I think this applicable to all versions).

    You can scroll through the startup screens by using
    Pause->Enter->Pause->Enter ... etc.
