    Do you want to:
    - fix it so both work
    - get rid of XP
    - get rid of 2K3?

Are they both on the same drive/partition or different ones?

They would get along lots better if they were on different drives/partitions. They do sorta hate being stuffed onto the same drive.

If you are willing to do a reinstall, that is certainly the best idea.

You may want to have both operating systems loaded so you can choose which one to use at boot time or you may just want to go with one.

2003 is great and with some tweaking can be made to act as a slightly more stable and faster XP. When it first installs, lots of goodies are disabled to make it even more stable since it is designed as a server OS but the features are easy enough to turn on. They are there but just not active.

If you want both, then how much hard drive space do you have?

Pre-empting a little here. If you still want to dual boot XP and W2K3 (after installing them on separate partitions), then for an excellent guide to all the tweaks that Newt mentions see here

Interesting to hear that W2K3 seems to work OK on a Laptop. Hmm, do I want to mess aroung with my new laptop? Na not for a while yet. :D
