My in-laws Compaq's CD-RW has stopped autoplaying CD's. I have checked Device Mgr and AutoInsert Notification is checked. I have also checked File Types CD Audio and it I set on Play with an address of c:\windows\cdplayer.exe /play "%1%.

Has some registry entry or dll gone bye-bye??

    Thanks, LarryB

    You're sure it's not: c:\windows\cdplayer.exe -play ?
    More ideas here.

Yes, I am sure of what I wrote.

I will try the "-play" path when I get there in a few days. That could be it!

    Thanks, Larry

:D My bad wording. Sorry about that.
I meant to ask if it shouldn't have been: c:\windows\cdplayer.exe -play
