I cannot see the URL address in IE6. Several other toolbars but not that one. I see something labeled address but it does not show the address.

I am getting on here in a roundabout way

Right click a blank area of the toolbar and see if address bar is checked.

  3. to hide this advert.

Move the cursor over the bottom edge of the toolbar until it changes to a double up-down arrow, then left click and drag it down.

    Hi tenbob,

Did I give you the right info or is it something else?

Ihad forgotten to click on the "Email Notification" so I didnt see your reply. However, when I did, I tried and got no double arrow. Then checked and, of course, the toolbar was locked. As soon as I unlocked it and used the dbl arrow, I got my adress bar. I have to remove some of the junk up there and get more room. Right now there are 7 lines unless I put in the auto-hide.

    Thanks

I'm confused. Are we talking "address bar" or "taskbar "? Didn't know there was an "autohide" for the address bar.

Wow! Have you knowingly installed some extra toolbars or have they just appeared? If you didn't want or put them there, I'd suggest you run some updated spyware removers and post a HijackThis log.

I had installed and wanted some of it. For example, Roboform, which I used to enter passwords - very handy
I also had a Google toolbar which is not worth the space. Now I am down to 5 lines, Titlebar, menu bar, IE toolbar, Roboform, and the address bar. These seem OK without the hide.

Yes problem solved BUT no guarantee that the hole in the back of my head will not again open allowing the overflow of knowledge to leak out -- again spoiling my shirt collar.
