    firstly, thanx for reading.
i previously had windows 98 & at that point in time i had customized some of my folders where i had kept a background picture n i had also changed the colour of the icon fonts therein so as to match the background.......for eg. some of them were changed to white where they had a very dark background.

now as i have changed to windows XP, these icon fonts have remained the same colours but the backgrounds have disappeared thus making the fonts invisible............the fonts which were changed to white, that is.
hence, now i require to change the colour of the fonts of the icons in these folders back to the original black colour.
pls note that the icon font colours of the other folders are completely normal i.e. black

please advice me as to how i do this.
    thanx a lot.

P.S. :the right clicking and choosing 'customize this folder' tab doesn't have the option of changing the colours of icon fonts in that folder

Did you try this go to one of your normal folders click Tools\FolderOptions\View click on Apply to All Folders. Click Apply then click OK.

The easiest way might be to install TweakUI and use the repair console to rebuild icons.

Try a searche on here (XP section) for ShellIconCache and see if any of the threads that show up might have suggestions that will help you out.
