search problems

    hi
    i wonder if anyone can help me i dont know what i've done but every time i open any file or folder or anything on my desktop except internet explorer i get the search come up and i dont know how to turn this feature off i can access the files by right clicking and goto open but this is really annoying that every time i double click an icon i get this search thing up

    Hi Dan - Welcome to the Board :)

    A little more info, please - are you referring to the Search function of Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer or some other search engine?

    its the windows xp search thing that comes up its the one with that little dog in it, it's not a major problem just really annoying to have to right click and the go to open to open everything
