After setting up a new wireless connection, the tray icon and the icon in Network Connections control panel are now reversed: the X'd out icon shows when available/working and regular when unavailable/not working.

Any ideas on fixing this annoyance?

Hopefully, it's as simple as either:

Downloading and installing TweakUI for XP and using it's repair feature to repair icons or...

Search for "iconcache" and delete it (aka, "shelliconcache" in Win9x). Windows will build a new one when you reboot.

    Hi, Miz! :D

Deleting the iconcache was the trick - thank you!
