I've read that it happens elsewhere, but her's my problem - when I try to install Macromedia shockwave on my Windows 98 PC, it comes up with this message 2% of the way through

"Could not load the DLL library C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\kernel32.dll
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format "

    Any help, please?

First thing I'd try is to click on the start button and type in sfc and tell it OK. When the options window pops up, you want to scan for altered files. If any are found, you will need your install CD in the drive so the system file check routine can extract a good copy from the CD and replace the problem file on the PC.

After that, try the install again and post back.
