I use XP and in the My Documents folder, Microsoft thinks that I desperately need folders named "My eBooks" and "My Music" (etc.). Each time I delete them, I'll be damned if William Gates himself doesn't walk through my front door, push me away from my computer and then defies my will by remaking them! Anyone know how do I keep XP from regenerating them?

Hi SystemError - Welcome to the Board :)

You could try locking the front door :D

I have a feeling that you cannot delete them permanently - unless someone else knows better. A workaround is to go to the Folder properties and give them the Hidden attribute.

Out of sight - out of mind?

    FYI-
My eBooks is put there by Acrobat and/or Acrobat Reader.

Each new version of Windows seems to add a new set of subfolders to the My Documents folder. If you delete these subfolders, Windows will automatically recreate them the next time you log on. To stop Windows from creating these subfolders every time, perform the following steps:

From the Start menu, select Run, enter the command
    regsvr32 /u mydocs.dll
to unregister the .dll file, then click OK.
Navigate to My Documents, then delete the automatically created folders that you no longer want to appear.

The steps above disable the My Documents functions, so if your system is missing some functionality, you'll need to reregister mydocs.dll. If you want to reregister the .dll file, perform the above steps again but use the command

    regsvr32 mydocs.dll

To get rid of the eBooks folder permanently, navigate to \My Programs\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\Plug_ins, find eBook.api, and either delete it or rename it to something like eBook.api.old.
