hello. i've been here at my computer for some time (days?) now and my head seems to be failing me. I've looked endlessly for the answers, but would appreciate the help.....

In trying to format my hard drive, the problem i meet is that i'm told i can't delete the partition C because it contains system files etc. I (stupidly) have stayed with just one partition all this time, have no third party program to help (ie partition magic) but was hoping to manage this alone. Is it possible?

    Thanks for your time :)

    Hi davui
    Welcome to the boards!
Pop your CD in the hard drive. Make sure your bios is set to boot from CD...and away you go! XP will do it all for ya. You are trying to wipe out and start again?
