Recently I ran into a bit of a problem with my master drive and windows was encountering some problems starting up. Since I didn't want to lose everything on the drive I switched my master and slave drives and installed windows onto my former slave, current master. I'm trying to transfer all of my pictures, documents, etc. from my former windows installation, and I can get into the "All Users" folder perfectly fine, but when I atttempt to enter my "Steve" folder in F:Documents and Settings, it tells me Access is denied. Can anyone help me out?

Hi SpaceMarineKill: Welcome to the board.

Since your post is on the XP board, I assume you are using XP. XP Home or Pro?

Is the "Steve" folder that you are trying to access on the now "slave" drive as part of the old installation?

Are you logged on to the new installation as an Administrator?

Were you an Administrator on the prior installation?

Have you tried using the "files and settings transfer wizard "?

With some more information we may be able to help.

    Martin

Yes, XP Pro. The folder I'm trying to get into is the documents and settings folder for "Steve ", my admin login on the previous installation on the drive which is now slave. I was admin on both installations, and I wasn't aware of that wizard. I'll try the link profided and the wizard you mentioned and check back once I'm on the machine that's having the problem. Thanks for the help Martin and Miz.
