    I have a mystery reg entry that someone may recognize, here.

    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\G6==:27;:]
    "ör« "=hex:09,49,0e,09

    I run Norton AV with current defs, with no indication of a virus, and have run a sweep for trojans-also negative. This entry has been exported to my desktop as a file, and the entry removed from the reg., with no apparent effect on any programs I have run since removal.

    Has anyone seen this and know what it is associated with? Thanks in advance.

    Machine is a custom built PIII, 256mb RAM, 40gig hdd with a Tyan S1854 Trinity 400 board.

    You do not mention what operating system you have.
    I do not have that entry in my Win98 registry.
    Demos and shareware have a habit of leaving a hard to identify registry entry behind to prevent reinstalling the program.

    You might want to try one of the registry cleaners found here or here

    G6==:27 relates to a pixel or section of a grid.

    The latter relates to a color.

    I suspect the entry is related to video or display, possibly settings used by an application.

    TonyT,
    Although I have the entry stored as a .reg file, just in case, deleting the key hasn't seemed to cause any problems...so presumably the program that calls it either isn't one I use often, or has been removed. Will post back if I do discover a program balking because the entry is removed.

    thanks
