Hi,

Whenever i try to download something from any website, i face a big problem. When i click on the link to download in ANY website, instead of poping up the box asking me if i want to open, save, cancel etc, the bring me over to this website:

best-search.info

I am unable to download any file unless i use the "save target as" option. I tried using both Spybot S&D and Spysweeper, but the problem is still there.

I think this is the latest (un)coolwebsearch trick,, its a hijacker/trojan

Save it to a PERMANANT folder,(for example C:\hijackthis) double-click HijackThis.exe,
and hit "Scan ". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here.
Most of what it lists will be harmless, even essential,DON'T fix anything yet please. Also If you've used it before please dont have anything excluded

 

I was too desperate at the moment so i already fixed it with system restore. However, i already created the log using HijackThis and i found a spyware "WebSavingsFrom Ebates ", which i have been trying to remove all the while. Anyway, thanks

If I understand correctly, this log is prior to doing a system restore and if so, a current log file should be posted.
