I have a recurring, inconsistent problem. When using the right mouse button I will frequently have a delay of up to 20 seconds before the dialogue box appears. On the next attempt it may or may not work fine. Several attempts seem to bring it more into line. After a short wait the problem returns. I have searched this and other forums to no avail. Any suggestions?

Did you try another mouse? Did you take yours apart and check for crud? Maybe your right click button is sticking, for some reason, or not getting an instant connection?

If you are using Norton antivirus go to --> Norton antivirus options --> Other --> Miscellaneous --> and Disable Office plug-in i.e. uncheck box Enable Office plug-in.

I already have office plugin disabled. I have not taken the mouse apart as it is an optical (should have said that). It is a microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 using standard plug in. I have tried it with the included software and the standard driver that comes with xp. No difference. Working fine today....so far.
