Is there a registry setting or something I can change to get the volume to go higher? I have all my cd players and mp3 players set to max volume, but this is as high as the meter ever gets.

    Here's a screen of what I'm seeing...

Did this problem start just recently ? Have you changed any
settings ? Have you tried re-installing the drivers ?
Maybe the headphones are belly up ? It happens ..
    regards

Did this problem start just recently ?

Actually, it seems like it worked fine on my old machine at first, and then started doing it later. When I upgraded to a newer PC, it did that right from the start.

    Have you changed any
    settings ?

    Probably...but, don't ask me what.

Have you tried re-installing the drivers?

I installed the latest patch for the SB 5.1, but it was doing this before and after the patch

Maybe the headphones are belly up?

Hmmmm...hadn't really thought about an external hardware problem. I'll check it out. Thanks for the help...
