AOL Loaded but not able to use IE

    Hi,

    A friend of mine is using ME on her Gateway Laptop.

    She is getting online with AOL but if she wants to use the Internet Explorer, it will never hook up so she can update her spyware, virus checker, Windows Update, etc.

    Does anyone know why Internet Explorer will not work?

    Do you know what happens when she tries to use IE? Does it ask for a connection, page not displayed, what? Is she unable to update through the AOL browser or just prefer to use IE?

    Thanks for your help.

    Please ignore this posting. I talked to Gateway and they had me return to IE 5.5 and now at least it is working.

    I will try to reinstall IE 6.0 and see what happens.
