Win 98 SE: Toggle Caps Lock off if shift key pressed like on typewriter. So when the letter pressed while the shift key is down is in Capital letters.

Hi there, you will need to try to explain what you mean a bit better before anyone can help thanks :) but going by what you are saying it seems like you need a new keyboard if you are having problems with it :)

I want it to work like a typewriter, that is, if the caps lock key is on and you press the shift key the caps lock goes off. If you never used a typewriter you will not know what I am talking about. Win XP can do. How to do in Win 98?

I see what you are getting at, I have an old Sears College typewriter that does that. It has the extra key on the left Shift key, a mechanical hook held down the Shift Key, so you had all caps, depress the Shift key and it releases. I learned to type on that thing.
Win98 doesn't do that to the best of my knowledge. The closest thing to it is StickyKeys, and all this does is 'hold' down the CTRL, ALT or SHIFT key for a moment, until you press another key. This is to assist others who cannot hold CTRL and press C or CTRL+C at the same time, or any other key combinations,

    Thanks markp62 for your comments

Thanks markp62 for your comments. I am still looking. I found many ways to shut it off with a memory resident program but I could not find a registry fix for us in Win 98x.
