Win2k HANGS

    Help! I get the following error message:

    IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
    Adress 80442FA9 base at 800400000 Date stanp 3ad7ad60 - ntosknl.exe
    Beginning to dump physical memory
    Dumping of physical memory complete
    Contact your system administrator

    I don´t know what to do?

    the machine is P3/500, 128 megsRAM, TNT2

    It means that a program, device driver, etc. has attempted to write to a memory area to which it has no right of access. Identify the offender and remove or uninstall it.

    Ok. But it can´t be a hardware failure, like physicaly broken memory?

    Bad memory would likely not pass the BIOS check or would cause general file corruption.
