I am having problems with Windows Task Scheduler. It seems whatever I delete returns after I restart Windows. I deleted a listed task by right-clicking on it and selecting DELETE. The listing disappeared. Fine. The next time I started Windows, there it was again. I not only deleted it from the Scheduled Task window, but also from the Recycling Bin.
Next, I deleted the contents of the View Log window by opening the ADVANCED menu and selecting View Log. In the View Log window, I selected SELECT ALL from the Edit menu. Then clicked Delete. The entire Log contents disappeared, but guess what? The next time I started Windows, back it came.
Finally, I decided to keep Task Scheduler from running, so I went back to the Advanced menu and clicked, "Stop Using Task Scheduler." The task Scheduler icon disappeared from the taskbar on the computer. So, I assumed that stopped it. Don't ask, yes it reappeared later. That's my dilema.
One thing I forgot to mention. The last thing I tried was, right-clicking on a task listing, and selecting "Properties." Then I selected the Task tab, where I found an option to Enable or Disable the task, by checking or unchecking a box. I unchecked the box. The listing showed a red cross over it's icon, meaning it was disabled, right? It came back later, uncrossed. Any suggestions?

    What is the task?
There may be some program you have and it is set to run this task. Check the task and then disable it from within the program that puts it there.
