I have Windows XP on my computer. I always have my View/Text Size set at Larger. But recently when I turn my computer on the next time the text size reverts to Smaller. I have to keep changing it back to Larger. I never had this problem before. How can I keep it at Larger all the time? Thank you very much.

Text size in IE has a history of being a bit buggy for some. The default is medium and when set at a users preference either larger or smaller, it will suffer amnesia or become erratic.

The work around has been pressing and holding the keyboard "Control" key down and scroll the middle scroll or turn the middle wheel on your mouse. This changes the text size on the fly and takes a nano second (provided you have a scroll mouse).

Sooner or later, this sorts its self out.

I did find this old reference and fix, perhaps it will still apply. It's worth a shot and an example of why retaining IE setting can be flaky:(I think this applys to email programs in general even thought the article refers to Outlook).

Also if your email is Endora:

It seems Eudora picked up on using Microsoft's viewer in a mail program. MS has figured out the default keeps going back up, so they change it back down every time you start the viewer. They have NOT yet figured out it’s changing because you like it larger and mail is the ONLY program you have that comes to you in larger print than you like, so when they shrink it to fit they change the default without asking permission.

In Eudora (and Outlook) just turn off the MS viewer:
Go to Tools | Options and select "Viewing Mail" on the left.
Uncheck the option "Use Microsoft's viewer ".

To goddez1: Thank you for your message. I did recently install Eudora. I clicked Tools/Internet Options but I did not see "Viewing Mail" on the left or anywhere. Please advise. Thank you.

Are you doing this from within Eudora?

I get the feeling your trying to do this in IE. (No-No)

To goddez1: Yes, I was doing this from Internet Explorer but I now did it from Eudora and it worked. Thanks.

    Hi abx,

Thanks for taking the time to update your post with the results and your most welcome.

As for the emailed question, I hope you don't mind that I tack a response in here. Fixing problems privately via email is not practiced by many of the board members. It does not help others nor provide a post for the "archives of past posts ". Besides, you limit yourself to the amount of responses you could get. Many heads are better then one and in this case "my one head" is pretty empty...vapid...void....

I know next to nothing about Eudroa. OE is what I am familiar with. This more than serves my very simple email needs.

May I suggest that you post this Relay Denied: Ip may be forged while trying to send mail problem up in (not sure) either the "Other Software" forum or the "IE" forum.

    Sorry...
