Lost contact with Favorites

    Unable to access Favorites except on toolbar of any program.
    How do I reinstal button on desktop or start menu? (Windows 98SE.

    Are you able to go to your favourites folder, right click on it and choose to send to desktop as a shortcut?

    If you have TweakUI installed (it will be in the Control Panel), open it, go to the IE tab and you can remove/restore Favorites on the start menu.

    If not, here's one way to get it back:
    1. Start the Registry Editor
    2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer
    3. Right-click an open area in the right pane and select New > DWORD Value
    4. Name it NoFavoritesMenu
    5. Double-click this entry and add the value 0
    6. Exit RegEdit and restart Windows
