I am having a new PC built that will have a CD burner but no 3 1/2" floppy drive. The machine I am using now is just the reverse and I have an awful lot of stuff saved to these floppys.

How hard is it to export them from this machine to the new one and how do you do it?

One alternative would be to copy the data back to the drive, then slave it in the new PC and copy it there, then to cd. Another would be to put a floppy drive on the new PC, and IMO should be on it. They are still usefull in some situations.

'Don't spoil the ship for a h'apporth of tar' - spend the extra $10 (?), you won't regret it.

A floppy drive is worth it's weight in gold - not just for data transfer, but for other things too - like Partition Magic/Boot Magic Rescue disks, Boot disks for Fdisk, etc, etc. Pointless putting the odd meg onto a CD - Long Live the Floppy :D

Just learned the new PC will have a floppy drive after all.
I'm getting it thru my step-son who has a business rebuilding, reconditioning and reselling PC's to schools and light industry.

    Website for them is www.partstockpc.com.

If you care to look at it, there is a letter from the President there signed by Patrick Hiller, President- that's my boy. He is also 50% owner.

I'm gonna print out the adsvice you guys have given and I sure appreciate it.
