I have install windows XP UPGRADE over ME on my laptop and now I have two network icons on bottom task bar. I tried going to control panel, network connections and deleting the LAN one but left or right clicking did not give me the option of deleting it. I am using a dialup network only. No broadban or LAN network. can someone give me a clue here? Thanks ever so much.:)

Go back to the control panel, network options, highlight the one you don't want and toggle the folders button- click "disable this device" on the left in the pretty blue- that should make the extra icon go away!

Congrats on the Upgrade! You did go with the Luna Blue, didn't you? :D

Okay thanks for the reply----however I guess I don't know what you mean by toggle the folders button. I have disabled that connection, but the icon is still there.

Lets see exactly what you have.

start~run~cmd followed by (when you get the 'DOS' window)
ipconfig /all > c:\config.txt (nothing will show on screen)

When the command finishes, open c:\config.txt, copy the entire contents, and paste it into a post on this thread.
