    Hi,
Quite often and especially when I click on the Windows Explorer icon, I get the message: "An error has occured in Internet Explorer . Internet Explorer will noe close. Please restart your computer OK
When I press OK, I get this message: "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down CLOSE
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor DETAIL
When I press DETAIL, I get a large dump that starts with: "Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module COMCTL 32.DLL@0617,bfbb4693
    Registers 00000000 CS=0167 RIP=bfbb4693 EFLGS=00010246 and more.
I tried to read your help suggestions to other members but could not locate this particular problem.
    I need your help.
    Tony

It is not Internet Explorer that is giving the problems. It is Explorer.Exe encountering a problem with COMCTL32.DLL, as it is corrupt.
If you can, go to Start\Run, type in SFC and press Enter. Click on 'extract one file from windows CD' and follow the prompts to replace C:\Windows\System\Comctl32.Dll.
    If that doesn't work

Need a bootdisk? Double click the downloaded file with a floppy in the drive, copying the file to a floppy will not work.
