I have this web space provided by my ISP.
    http://webpages.charter.net/picard/
I would like to upload jpegs etc. to it.
    Similar to this site.
    http://w1.494.telia.com/~u49403692/

I have tried WS_FTP and CuteFTP.
I can't make a connection with either program.
I feel the problem is with the Host address I enter.
All I have is a http address I do not have an FTP address.
I turned off fire wall, but that didn't help.

This site management stuff is new to me
    any thoughts would be appreciated.

When you signed up with Charter, they should have provided you with the ftp addy, and password.
It's usually ftp.charter.net, username is picard, and password whatever you use to go online.
    If in doubt, call charter.

If you cannot access the ftp site using the link below then either you did not yet activate the member space account else the password you are using is incorrect, else your isp has member space issues that they need to solve.

    ftp://picard@webpages.charter.net/

    Thanks for the info reboot.
Got it working. I had to use as Host Name
"webpages.charter.net" no http or ftp prefix.
