    Last Wednesday, Microsoft shipped the Release Candidate 1 (RC1) of Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) to its beta testers.

    Today Microsoft announces broad availability of this service pack to its TechNet and Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) subscribers. Microsoft has added a Windows XP Service Pack 2 Technical Preview Program, which is available at a new Microsoft TechNet portal site.

    Okay, it's downloading, and I'm gonna give it a whirl- one of the benefits of having a crash proof computer. I have already heard that it causes BSODs and to wait for the next version, due out this summer. Has anybody other than Arie installed it yet? Or all y'all waiting on some fool like me?

    I heard rumors (and saw screenshots with registry hacks) that you will be able to connect more than one person through Remote Connection. Or at least have someoen on, and another person "connected" Can anyone verify?

    Win XP SP2 RC1

    I installed it on a second WXP dual boot on a second hard drive I use for testing.

    Very slow install but worked fine after a second reboot. Pretty good for beta. Has some nice features.

    I actually had to install it while I was at the MVP conference. Otherwise I couldn't get Internet access. They used a new network security feature that was built into SP2 on their wireless network.
    My install took 1 1/2 hour to finish. My laptop is pretty snappy too, so I hope the final version is a faster install.
