I have tried every suggestion in JimmyM's thread. I have executed noahdfear's suggestion several times. I have purged the registry of any mention of MacroMedia and/or Flash Player as well as ShockWave. And again tried noahdfear's suggestions. To no avail . . Flash Player looks like it installs OK but IE will not display anything encoded for Flash Player. I hope someone has some nuance that was not suggested to JimmyM ??? Thanks in advance for any offered assistance/help. My OS is Win2K

A link to the thread you are referring to, so that others may see what you have tried.

Thanks for that, noahdfear. I have to admit I didn't feel like any extensive searching ;)

Try manually uninstalling flash player as instructed here. Also saw a reference to making sure video drivers are up to date.

    http://www.macromedia.com/go/19091

the above link will explain your problem. you will have to manually remove the "kill bit" entry as described. after screwing with the same problem for 2 weeks[win2k]., this solved the flasplyer problem instantly. good luck

I contacted WayOutWest via email to see if he was able to correct his problem, before my last posting. He replied that he had not, after trying many things. Sent him another message last night suggesting he check this thread again. I recieved a reply this morning.
Looks like now he needs some suggestions to get logged in.

Have a look at this thread.

    Anyone else?

WayOutWest, I am sure there are many things that can affect Flash, but I had a similar problem and tried everything I could think of and everything that others could think of. All I can tell you is that if you were not having any problem with Flash before and you have recently updated IE, undo the update and try installing Flash again. This solved my problem with Flash. Good luck.
