Aleekat, you, of course, are 100% correct. IE6 NOT OE6!! Unless I am (again) doing something wrong, this does not clear the history which appears when you click on the arrow in the address bar. And then again I might be using the wrong terminalogy!
I thought that I had taken care of the problem when I went to the general tab (Tools/Internet options) and changed the days to keep pages in history to 0ne (1) and cleaned history, But that didn't work, unless I am not waiting long enough. Willieboye

Right click on the taskbar and choose properties . Click on the start menu tab. If you don't use the classic start menu, tick the line that says "classic start menu" . Click on the customize button and then click the clear button. If you don't want to use the classic start menu just back your way out clicking on cancel. Also, if you don't like the autocomplete feature, in IE click tools>internet options>content>autocomplete.

    IE6 History (OE6)

Thank you Aleekat and Zander for your excxellent information. But it suddenly dawned on me that I had recently downloaded Google for my home page. (If that was a good idea or not, I am not sure!) BUT, I started poking buttons on the address line and came upon "options ". Clicking this I found "Drop Down Search ".
Taking the check mark out clears the history on the address bar.
Quite simple and I imagine you can put back the history option as you like. Again Thanks for your replies.
