I recently caught the W32Mydoom.Gomm virus on my Windows 98 system. I running a virus scan I was able to quarantine most of the instances of the virus but there are two files that I have not been able to delete or quarantine. They are Nbq.exe and Dtacddt.dll in the Windows/System folder.

Since the mesage appears that Windows is using these files, I have been trying to delete them in MS-DOS mode but every time I try to start in MS-DOS mode I get these two messages:
Device Driver not found: "GEM001" and
    No valid CDROM driver selected.

First of all, does anyone know if the two files mentioned above that I can't delete are actually needed by Windows? If not, can you help me find a way to delete them?

The virus was found in numerous locations in my system and I have been getting emails that the virus has been found in attachments to emails that I know I did not send. I assume the virus is doing this.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

I would download this removal tool. Reboot in the safe mode, and try it again. I believe the gem001 was created by the virus. Not sure about the cdrom.
