I have tried a search on this but to no avail. Can anyone tell me how I can make every folder open sorted by last modified?

    Much appreciated.

Hi Artychoke98 - Welcome to the Board :)

Guess you have Windows Explorer set up to show Date Modified.

Click on the column header to sort ascending/descending by date modified.

Tools > Folder Options > View - Apply to all folders.

Haven't tried it, but should work.

I think I need to be more specific about last modified

    Thanks for the quick response.

What I really want is for all my software (photoshop, corel, msword, etc) to always list by last modified when I go to open file. Is this possible.

    Thanks, Dan.

Think so using the route I suggested .......

In, say PS File > Open and in the Windows Explorer type box which appears click on the View Menu and select Details.

If the method I posted for keeping the files ordered as Last Modified works then the files will be so ordered.

If not just click on the last modified header to sort.

    Hi Dan ...

I just tried Pete's suggestion, and it appears to work, even though the Open window will display the List view in date modified order; if you want to see the date modified, you have to select the Details view.

Everyone has his/her own way of doing things, and I seem to be in the minority, but I prefer to work from within Windows Explorer (Details view). I navigate to the file I want to work on, right-click on it to open the context menu, click on Open with..., and select the program I want. For me, that's easier than opening the program and then navigating to the file.

    Thank you!

Thank you to Pete and Jim. You're information has become very valuable to me. I now have cut 30 minutes off my day. My time is very important to me and my productivity. When things slow down in my office, I may try your way of working on files Jim. Thanks again, windows tech support has nothing on you guys. I hope I can ask you another bewildering question in the future. Dan.
