Corrupt date format in OE

    A friend of a friend - amazing how your circle of 'friends' grows when they hear you 'know a bit about PC's' :) has a problem with the date format in OE 5 (Win 98)....

    Dates in his Inbox, etc I presume, are being shown as (in UK format)

    16/mm/2004 instead of 16/03/2004

    My thoughts are to repair IE, but could the ISP be responsible? - I'm not sure.

    He 'thinks' the date format in Windows Explorer is OK.

    Any thoughts?

    Control panel, regional settings, date tab. Pick your option.

    The date is actually shown as 16/mm/2004, i.e. instead of 03 he has mm - day and year are correct. The format is OK, but it is not showing correctly in OE.

    The first thing I'd try is changing the date format in Regional Settings to anything else. If it takes, then change it back and see if Windows will get it right the second time around.
