networking win xp pro to win 98

    two computers
    not on internet
    both have network cards.
    one has win xp pro other has win 98 se.
    how best can these two computers be networked ?

    1. Cross-over patch cable
    2. Same workgroup name
    3. Different PC names
    4. NetBeui, Client for Microsoft Networking, File and Printer sharing.
    5. Log on to both with the same username and non-blank password.
    6. Share something.
