After having installed 'FreeMem Professional Trial Version', version 4.3 software, I cannot get it to uninstall !! Going to 'add/remove programs' and selecting 'FreeMem......' from the menu, the response window announces "Unable to locate setup logfile ", and I'm left with the inability to delete this program.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated......

    Hi duray
Welcome to the boards! Have you tried re-installing and then uninstalling again?

    Daizy:

Thanks for the clue relating to my problem with FreeMem. I tried various "install / uninstall" combinations, and the pop-up is gone from my desktop. However, the program is still resident. Now, a window reminds me that I have 30 days to make up my mind if I want to buy a version of the software, and I can't make this go away.......guess I'll wait 30 days, and see if it vanishes by itself!!!

    Again, thanks for the tip.

Try going to run...then typing msconfig....clicking Ok...then looking under the start up tab to see if it's in there to be unchecked? If it is, do so, click apply...then Ok...then it will ask you to reboot. Do so.
The next time it boots up, you'll get a display saying you've chosen selective start up. Just put a check mark in the box that says not to tell you again, and click ok.

Daizy........did as you suggested, and it was in there, checked. I unchecked it, apply, etc., rebooted, and it's fine.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time to help out......I do appreciate it.

    Regards,

    duray

If you want to get rid of all of its parts, reinstall it. Look for the install.log in its folder. Save a copy somewhere. Uninstall using Add/Remove.

Then, look through the install.log. It will tell you all the files that were installed so you can look for them and delete them (if some were placed in the Windows folder, for example. Some of these mem apps also install drivers). You can do the same with reg entries.
