Here is the yarn. Win 98SE.

My sister-in-law got a virus. Though NAV did not catch it (not updated apparently), it post haste cleaned it all up and got her back to normal except that OE will not connect to the DSL. All of the settings are correct. If says "finding host ", then "connecting" and that is it until it times out. IE works fine.

She originally had 5.5 and then installed 6.0 over it.

After having unsuccessfully tried the IE Repair in Add/Remove, I figured the only way to get OE to work was to uninstall/ re-install.

I uninstalled IE6 and it said that it would revert to the original config (5.5). It did so. However, now that I want to uninstall 5.5 there is no IE or OE shown on Add/Remove Programs.

So, am I on the right track in trying to get OE connected again? If so, how do I substantially uninstall it now that it is not in Add/Remove? There must be IE/OE files all over the place!!

    Thanks, LarryB

I would remove the account and reenter all info.

I resolved it. It was a couple of things.

The account was ok but I had to re-install IE6, then create a new Identity as the original (Main) had been corrupted.

    Thanks for your help, LarryB
