I have my hard drive partioned and I installed windows XP professional into one of partitions and now I want to remove it or delete it and I can`t seem to do it I did format the partion but I still have the windows XP at startup and of course everytime I restart my computer I have to set it to startup with my drive C which is windows 98se. How do I get rid of the Windows XP when I turn on my computer I presume its in my registry somewhere.

PeteC "Look for a file named boot.ini and edit out the reference to XP "

PeteC, the link, "How to Use System Files to Create a Boot Disk" (# 314079), says in it's summary:

This article describes how to guard against a situation when it is not possible to start Windows or any other operating system on your computer. This situation can occur when Windows is installed on a computer that has an Intel x86-based processor and the boot record for the active partition or files that are required to start Windows becomes corrupted.

I have Toshiba notebook with Intel P4 Mobile CPU 1.7 GHz and 512 MB of RAM.

Question: Do I have to, also, make this Boot Disk? TIA

If you are running XP I would recommend it - it got me out of trouble on one occasion - on an AMD based computer:)
