I've recently installed a DV Firewire card and I'm no longer able to shutdown Windows ME properly. Shutdown has now become a restart and the only way to shutdown is to use the power switch just before Windows does a restart. My system was perfectly stable before installing the Firewire card. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Try getting rid of it in Device Manager. Then shut down your machine and open it up. Take the firewire card out, wait a couple secs, put it back in. Then close the computer and turn it back on and reinstall whatever drivers came with it. See if that helps.
