I was wondering what a certain extension the in format command line might do, the line in question is, "format c: /s ". I friend told me that it the /s part was unnessecary if one was also using fdisk, which i am, i would however like to know what it is that /s does.

    Thanks

The /s switch transfers the DOS system files to the drive which is made bootable.

Have a look at DOS Command Index !
