I have just reinstalled WindowsXp and thus had to also reinstall Netscape7.1. The problem is that now I cannot seem to access any email activity, sending or recieving. I had read a solution to this problem somewhere on the net, but thoughtlessly did not make a note of and now am lost. Any advice be be very much appreciated. Thanks

    Welcome to the Forum, Des!

    Hi Des,

    Mail Settings:
In the Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | Server Settings:
    - Ensure "Local directory" points to the correct path of your Profile location
    - Disable: Empty Trash on Exit

    Corrupt Mail Summary Files:
    Do a "Find" for *.MSF
    Delete all Files

    With Netscape open:
    Delete the registry.dat file
    - the file is located in the:
    C:\.....\Application Data\Mozilla
    (See: Profiles Folder Location)
    Close Netscape

If you did a reformat of your HD, and a clean install of Netscape, then disregard this workaround:

When you uninstalled Netscape, did you reboot the PC
Did you delete the GRE folder which is located in:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\mozilla.org\GRE

If this was a clean reinstall of XP and Netscape, did you create a new Profile for Netscape, or did you copy Profile data from a backup? If you copied Profile data from a backup, then did you first create a Mail Account with the Mail wizard?

If none of the above helps, or is applicable, then you may need to Create a New Profile.

    HTH,

    Ramona :D
