Well here I go again with a network trouble. It is in a 4 station network. All stations can see me but I cannot see anyone. I can ping all stations, I have NETBIOS over TCP/IP enabled. When I click on the workgroup I get a message:

MShome is not available. You may not might have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available.

    Thanks for the answer Newt
Double checked, I also had someone else check them with me a third time. I checked the Browser Services and they are started. I went through all the recommendations in the URL and still no go from one side.

The first thing I would do is compare the settings with the other computers. Rebooting works wonders if you change something. Go into advanced settings and see if you have unbound TCP/IP from Printer and Filesharing or Client for Microsoft. If I remember correctly you aren't using Netbeui anymore. Also another place would be Folder Options. Make sure all the protocols are the same on each computer, no extras.

Thanks Mag's on my way. I already checked all the TCP/IP settings and they are OK but not the Folder Options.

I mentioned folder options because if you have simple filesharing disabled on the other machines and this is XP pro disabling it will usually get things rolling again. Well comparing the settings should take care of that.

All the other computers can see all the computers even the one in question. As far as I can tell it has been correctly installed. I even reinstalled the LAN on the computer in question. I wish I knew what to check next.

Hardware would be next. If you have another known good nic to put in there. Do ipconfig /all and see what it says. Can you make a new connection or is it grayed out? Getting any winsock or sock errors? IP start with 169.?
