Would like to install AVG Free Edition (see bottom of page) on my fresh built w98 SE. But I'm concerned with the license agreement....
" ...... IT CAN NOT BE INSTALLED IN ANY NETWORKED ENVIRONMENT! "
I have a simple home network, linking my XP (NSW / AV) and w98. Is this an allowed configuration when using AVG Free Edition? If yes, any considerations per network attachment during installation?
    Thanks

IMO - it's not home networks that they have in mind, more like corporate.

Exactly right. They don't want it installed on a bunch of computers in a corp setting.
BTW, if you have networked drives mapped, AVG will scan them too.

Yes, I noticed that option. I do have a "Drive M" mapped (source folder on XP) which contains approx. 1500 songs (edited via Music Match) shared to the network. Since XP is NSW protected, did not want to test if AGV (on w98) and NSW can "play nice ". The source folder (on XP) is shared as read / copy only. I would assume this is adequate permission for AGV.

It should be ok. AVG might **** out trying to write it's .dat file, or it's $virusvault$ if something is found, but it should still scan the drive.
