Have done searches on this error and looked at wordperfects web site but to no avail. Client has a new Dell with the Perfect suite that came with the system they are getting the following error which literally shuts the system down XP system.

    Error-signature
    szappname:wpwindll.exe szappver:11.0.0.233
    szmodname:hungapp szmodver:0.0.0.0
    offset:00000000

    Any pointers would be appreciated.

I'd be a bit leary of windll.exe. Have you done a recent and updated virus and trojan scan?
How about a check for spyware?

Well, that blows that theory huh?

    You've double checked the spelling? "wpwindll.exe "
What does it say in the event log? Does it give any hints?

Spelling could be wpwinll.exe which seems to be a strange file. Client faxed over the error to me so no I havent looked at any event log. First client that wanted word perfect on a new Dell even though office could have converted their files to microsoft format they wanted word perfect.

I have searched using both wpwindll.exe and wpwinll.exe and found nothing regarding the error nothing on corels web site either. Seems to two that I found that werent related to word perfect had to deal with the bios time keeping and like you mentioned a virus like nimda. I dont believe either one fits here cuz like I said the system is not on the web and it was updated and scanned when I put it together. Bios I am making an assumption that being its fresh out of the box that the battery should be okay.

Sorry about that. It just doesn't give us a lot to go on does it?
Is it an error that is easy to replicate? If so...how? Perhaps this person could do so...and once again, give you the error message?

Am going to make a service call to this client in the next day or so so will see if I can recreate error. Would like to put them on Office cuz I dont think they would have the same problems as with W.P.

Will post again if I can recreate. Thanks for your responses.

I wonder if the actual file name is wpwin11.exe? (that's the number 1 (one) doubled.)

I found a few hits using this. Now I guess I'll have a look around.

My guesstimate is this is the executable for Word Perfect version 11 and the error is "Hungapp" or Word Perfect is hung up and did so before it could load enough of it's self into to memory to identify why. This is not a very helpful error and I suspect I will find an equally helpful fix.

    =======
    Yep,

Came back empty handed, sorta'. Looks like there's not enough details in this error to track down the problem. Google only offered word perfect 10 twists to this error but here they are none the less:

    http://groups.google.com/groups?num...ewwindow=1&q=hungapp+word+perfect&sa=N&tab=wg

    http://groups.google.com/groups?num=100&hl=en&lr=lang_en&ie=ISO-8859-1&newwindow=1&q=wpwin11.exe

    http://www.wpuniverse.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=10246&highlight=hungapp

The clues are going to be in the advent viewer, dumpfile or in a faultlog somewhere.

    That's all I got but it's a starting point.
NOTE:I didn't go to a Corel support site.

That does sound like a possibility. ll and 11 can look the same. As for the memory part cant believe memory would be the problem this machine has 512mb of ram. I try and give my clients 512 with XP. XP seems to like a lot of memory.

I will make a house call on the client and see if it is 11. Thanks.
