    Hi,

I am not quite sure if anyone posts this thread before, but i could not find any in the search option.

My friend owns a Linksys BEFW11S4 router. He could not use the video conference option in MSN Messenger due to the reason that there is a firewall in the router. Anybody knows how to disable the firewall? I told him to forward certain ports but i am not quite sure which is for what and i do not go to the detailed settings.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

This gives good port information for most of the popular things in use these days and for MSN Messenger, also gives places to go for further discussion of V3 & V4 (XP).

    GreatGuy & Newt,

I have the Linksys BEFSR41 Router and also use ZA.
I've been using MSN Messenger (currently v6.1) to video conference for several months. My setup for Video Conferencing is to just shut off the ZA, and on the Router select the "Password" Tab and then select "Enable" for UPnNP services.
I do not appear to need any Port Forwarding. The Quality of the Video and Audio is very good.

    hope this helps :)

Yes Indeed. I friend fixed it by not forwarding a SINGLE port, but he forwarded lots of UPnP ports. He enabled all the UPnP, and disabled all the port forwarding. Then we had our first video conference.

Thank you all for your help.
