I've never used any form of anti spyware program but as I run virus and firewall software the next logical step to protecting my PC is anti spyware. I've looked at a number of different websites and as usual there is a multitude of programs to choose from. What are the programs you use?
Are there any major differences between them?

    Ta,

Most of the folks here(me included) use Spybot and Adaware. Both are free. What one doesn't catch, the other does.

And remember to update their reference files before running and to run Spybot before Ad-aware.

I really like the "Immunize" feature in Spybot. It protects you from "accidentally" acquiring known bad guys.

    Ta,

I have run Spybot and Ad-Aware. It didn't pick up any programs, fairly new install, but Spybot picked up on vulnerabilities in MS programs that have now been removed.

I ran the immunise but don’t know too much about these things yet. Some reading of manuals required I think.
