I posted back in November about being able to get sound from only one(either) of these two devices at a time. My sound card has only one plug to attach to a CDplayer. Hawk22 informed me that he had a cord with two plugs to attach two players, some one else told me Cyber guys had a duplex cord available.
I, in my infinite wisdom decided the two plugs must be connected in parallel to a single cord, and proceeded to parallel a plug on my cord giving me an attaching plug for each device and a single plug to attach to the sound card, with the understanding that it would be used for sound from only one at a time.
Being an electrician this wasn`t really hard to do, black to black, white to white, red to red, soldered and triple checked for continuity and shorts.
Alas! it doesn`t work, with the volume clear up I can faintly hear the sound.as soon as I unplug one or the other of the two devices the sound is fine from either one.
I assume there`s a feed from the circuitry from one to the other when they are both plugged in.
Does a factory cord have some means of blocking this feed back, or am I just unlucky enough to own a sound card that isn`t going to let it work?
    Whad`ya think?

Guess that answers my question. Nothing comes easy on computers. Thanks a lot, I`ll shake loose with enough coin to buy one.

Does your soundcard have an auxillary connection on it? If so, you can connect one of the drives to it.
