I downloaded a free trial of a popup stopper. It made a sound every time it killed a popup. I disabled the sound but they continued. I uninstalled the program, but the darn sounds are still there and driving me crazy. I've sent a note to the developer but no response.......can anyone help? thanks....Michelle

Do you by any chance use the Google toolbar? If so, it has a popup blocker that makes a sound too. You can turn it off in the options. I thought I'd mention this as many people don't realize it has that feature, so....

    Found it!

As a followup....finally found the culprit - looked in control panel, sounds....checked list of windows sounds to see if I could find the one that I heard - finally saw "cookie cruncher" wav file which I deleted. Found it belonged to Pest Control program. No problems since.

Thanks Johanna. I've pondered that question for a long time now. Now I know the answer. ;)

Yes, but you were right to trust your gut instinct. You knew, even alone in the woods, you were wrong, right? :p Surely your wife or daughter would have told you... Now, do you have any HARD questions? :D

    Zander,

Care to download the .wav for your signature?

Go here and look for the "stillwrong.wav" link near the bottom.

    Just a thought. :D

Ironic, isn't it, that the only thing a woman considers a man to be right about is being wrong.

:) I checked out the wav file. Hadn't ever heard it before but it is pretty much the same thing. Actually, a friend of mine gave me a can cooler that had it on it. I got a kick out of it and it occurred to me that if I used it as a sig I might actually get an answer to it. Thanks to Johanna, I now know the answer (as if I didn't before). You might know it would be Johanna that would step in and set me straight. :D

Dave, what is funny is how you guys want what we have SO BAD that you'll "be wrong ", even when you're not, just to get it!! Ha ha! I taught my sweet husband the code words for whenever he is in doubt of what to say... "Yes, Ma'am!" That way, he's never wrong! Give me and J a half hour together, and despite every success, you'll be an idiot, too... LOL

Zander, how many women do YOU answer to? :D
