Anyone else ever get caught in one of those page-traps? The kind where site-window after site-window floods the screen or fills the taskbar to bursting. Usually, it happens when surfing a part of the web you only nose around in very late at night. Anyway, what's the secret? Is it some kind of webring thing? or maybe a frame flaw? or just a plain 'ol trap concieved by some loley webmasters to teach us all a lesson? I've been forced to shut my browser down, or even disconnect from the Web altogether to excape. I've heard there's an eaiser way, but can't remember it. If I've saved it, I can't find it. [One small drawback to all this modern-day double digit storage space]. Does anyone understand me? Can anyone help?

ps---- by the way, good-day everyone. You're all 'web-saints' for giving your time and efforts to this worthy cause of enlightnment. Hope you all never get "too old to Rock-n-Roll "
park on driveways.....drive on parkways.........go configure.

Disable Active scripting in the Internet zone... Then for sites you want to use it, add them (the sites) to the Trusted sites (Tools > Internet Options > Security)

    .... or you could download
Pop-Up Stopper. There is a free version. This small program will stop any windows popping up, you even get the choice of making it produce a sound every time a page attempts to pop up a new window, which is quite satisfying ;)

It sits on your system tray and can be disabled/enabled with a double click.

The only (small) drawback: if you are a heavy user of the right-click link "Open in New Window" option like I am, you'll find you have to hold down the Ctrl button to allow the new window to open.
