Browsing images causes crashing

    When browsing directories containing images with virtually any program, like Windows Explorer, or Photoshop 7, or PainshopPro6, I get an error message saying the program has generated an error and will be closed by windows.

    I recently reformatted my drive and restored most of these images from cd. It is happening with several types of image, including basic jpg wallpapers, website gif images, and my master psd files, which as you can imagine is getting slightly anoying.

    I'm using Windows 2000 Pro with SP4 and a few other patch updates... Anyone got any ideas on what the problem could be? Its driving me up the wall :confused:


    [edit] Browsing the CD does not cause any program to crash, and I've tried recopying the image back to the hdd, but I get the same problem :(

    What should I be looking for exactly?

    The only error I have is this:

    I don't think that helps.. my modem is working fine.. the images I'm having trouble with :(
