iexplorer.exe problem on XP

    when attempting to start ie, I get "windows has encountered a problem and exporer needs to close "
    If I reboot, then ie works.
    the error message says I'm missing iexplore.exe
    and says I should read appcompat.txt
    but I can't find the text.

    running ie 6.02 on a Gateway laptop

    Go to Microsoft.com and get in their KB,
    (Knowledge Base)-search for your error message>The answer is there.
