I have been trying to clean up my start ups lately.

There is one program that just appeared this week. In fact, it appears in list twice.

I have checked lots of start up directories, but haven't found this one listed.

    It is, " RFAgent C:\Program Files\RFA\rfagent.exe "

    Thanks for any advice.

Hi Neil -- RFA is Registry First Aid. If you have it installed thats where the startup entries come from.

    Thanks John:
I assume I can at least eliminate one of them.

Assuming gets one into trouble most of the time. I don't use RFA so I don't know if RFA needs both or not. For safety's sake run msconfig, click on the startup tab and uncheck one of the entries. If RFA runs ok without it then the possibility of elimination without harm is increased tenfold. When unsure always side with safety. Assumptions and computers don't mix well together because computers have no 'common sense'. I've had to reinstall applications many times due to assuming. Lots easier to play it safe. Less complications also.

To run msconfig click on start>run>type msconfig>ok.

    Hope this helps.

I removed one entry, and so far so good.
I would like to find an accurate list that is alphabetical.

The link given by rcerrato actually is alphabetized. Typing the name of your startups in the search window will speed up the process of finding them. As you can see, it's a big list.
